Which Type of Merchant Account Works Best for You?

Fresh off the launch of Segpay Merchant Services, Cathy took to the pages of XBIZ.com to help businesses understand the differences between two merchant account types and make an informed decision about which one makes the most sense.

In her article, Direct Account Vs. Payment Facilitator: A Merchant’s Guide, Cathy compares these two payment processing solutions, citing how the pros and cons of each will depend on how long you’ve been in business, and how much involvement you want in managing your day-to-day payment activities:

IPSP or PF solutions are ideal for merchants with little to no experience taking payments. No previous processing history is required and you don’t need to worry about PCI requirements (for payment data security) since the processor is responsible for that. Because IPSP/PF accounts are fully managed, merchants can focus on their core strengths without having to worry about administering payments, refunds, chargebacks, etc.
